Lawsuit, of Mrs.Schinaraki , active counselor to Greek prime minister, G. Papandreu, , against journalist for comments on Facebook!
The adviser to Prime Minister, former mayor and MP , requesting compensation and imprisonment of journalist, for a comment, on private discussions and “like” on Facebook.
For the first time in Greece, a public person, advisor to Prime Minister, Mrs. Vangelio Schinaraki, files claim to a journalist , Mr.Alekos Andrikakis , and accuses him of words ... in private discussions, in places where he meets acquaintances, but also comments in FACEBOOK, made by himself and his friends, on the "wall" of social networking.
Mrs.Schinaraki, advisor to Prime Minister, former MP and mayor of Iraklion, Greece submits a claim, requesting € 100,000 and imprisonment of the famous Cretan journalist (currently working in Patris newspaper and Radio Crete) , for a comment that was written and said, not as a journalistic tool, but in under the FaceBook platform!
Mrs Schinaraki, chose this novel way, to stop the criticism that many engage in her face, since she chose to become advisor to the Prime Minister, last winter, but a few days earlier in the light of television , was announcing publically and explicitly her intentions , to return to teaching tasks at a public school, after completing the Prefecture 4 year term.
The lawsuit comes at the worst time for PASOK the ruling party and the Greek government , and is expected to cause much debate, as top government officials, not even the the Prime Minister himself, had ever such reactions to harsh criticism, public or private even when they were harshly attacked at social media and on the press.
The question now is, what will be PASOK party’s response , to the action of Mrs. Schinaraki ,since she is an elite memberof the former, as well as the Prime Minister’s Office, to the potential of which she belongs.
Because there is a conflict between a politician and a journalist, there is an apparent attempt to stop the criticism, that some persons engage, not only in public discourse but also in their private discussions (traditional and electronic) , by making a big issue of Democracy and Expression.
It is well known that lately the Government is trying to impose legislation in order to regulate and limit the way citizens of Greece are expressed, through the news media, BLOGS, FACEBOOK, and other social networks.
